LifeguardingNaRs Lifesaving & First Aid Qualifications What is NaRs? NaRs is a group of qualifications designed to provide life saving and lifeguarding skills in swimming pools with first aid for all situations within the aquatic, sports industries and the workplace. The NaRs program offers training/qualifications to suit a wide range of occupational roles and responsibilities. The program is being constantly developed so that whatever your rescue and first aid requirements there will always be qualifications that meets your needs. Lifesaving: Here at the Sports Club we run NaRs Pool Lifeguard courses periodically throughout the year. Holders of this qualification are able to act as a poolside lifesaver, trained in pool rescue, cardio pulmonary resuscitaiton (CPR) technique and first aid. Any one interested in these courses should contact the Sports Club for further details. First Aid The Sports Club runs a wide range of first aid courses, included in these are a 3 day First Aid at Work and the new 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course meeting the requirements for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. These courses cover basic life support and casulty management enabling the participant to take charge of First Aid situations. For Nurserys and Primary Schools the 1 day Pediatric Foundation and the 2 day Pediatric Qualification First Aid Courses cover basic life support for babies and children and management of some common pediatric first aid problems. The STA is approved by the Qualifications and Cirriculum Authority (QCA) as an awarding body, most NaRs qualifications are approved by the HSE and are or will be included on the National Qualifications Framework as level 2.
